FAQ

Do I have to have an injury to receive a massage?

No. Injury is only one reason an individual may come for a massage. Stress management, relaxation, general muscle soreness and tension, or feelings of wellbeing are just a few other reasons you may want to receive a massage.

How long does a massage last?

You can choose from 30, 45, 60, and 90 minute massage treatments. Depending on your reason for massage therapy, this is a personal decision. Do not hesitate to call and ask what amount of time is recommended for your needs specifically.

How often should I receive a massage?

This is also a personal question related to your specific requirements. Once a month is very common for a ‘maintenance’ situation where you are healthy and in need of a general decrease in muscle tension and relaxation. If you are dealing with an injury that is causing pain and interrupting your activities of daily living (and massage is indicated) you may need to receive treatment as frequently as once a week. This is something that can be discussed after treatment.

Other information:

If it is your first treatment please arrive 15 minutes early in order to fill out the required paperwork. There will be a discussion and possibly an assessment that will also take time.

If possible, try not to schedule anything too closely after your massage. The hope is that you will feel relaxed and calm and having to rush directly afterward may cause more stress.

Please do not hesitate to call if you have any further questions.
